When it feels like this will never pass
A feeling is weather, not climate. Even this is already moving — whether you believe it yet or not.
Right now it feels permanent — as if the walls of this mood were the walls of your whole life. The mind insists it will always be this heavy.
But notice: you have felt a thousand things before this one, and not a single one of them stayed. A feeling is weather moving through. It is not the sky.
Try this
- Put one hand on your chest and feel it rise and fall. You don’t have to fix the feeling. You only have to notice that something underneath it is still steady.
- Say it quietly: “This too is moving.” Not “this is fine” — only that it isn’t frozen. Because it isn’t.
- Do the next small, ordinary thing. Fill a glass of water. Open a window. Let life keep moving, and the feeling moves with it.
The point: You are not the storm. You are the sky it is passing through — and the sky always outlasts the weather.
