Burnout

When you've been gripping too hard

A hand held in a fist can't receive anything. Open it, and see what was never yours to carry.

You’ve held on so long you’ve forgotten your hand is closed. Every task, every worry, every I should — gripped tight and carried all at once, as if setting one down means dropping them all.

But a hand held in a fist can’t receive anything, and a person braced against everything can’t rest.

Try this

  1. Open your hands. Turn the palms up. Let the body show the mind what release feels like — it remembers faster than words do.
  2. Name one thing you can set down today. Not forever — just today. One should that the world will survive without.
  3. Rest before you’re empty, not after. Ten quiet minutes now isn’t laziness; it’s how you stay able to carry what’s truly yours.

The point: Strength isn’t holding everything. It’s knowing what to put down — and trusting that the important things will still be there when your hands are open.
